3 reviews for ELAC Debut 2.0 B5.2 Bookshelf Speakers

  1. Dale M.

Fantastic as desktop speakers. Great sound, strong midbase, and is able to let you discern the difference between your source equipment/files. Front port is welcomed, and allows the speakers to be pushed against the wall or other things without changing the sonic character. Like any good speaker, more power brings out the best in these.

  2. Will Duong

Non-existent customer service. Great speakers, but as soon as you need to send it back because a subwoofer blows out – you can only deal with email customer service support via zendesk. They are not obligated to respond to you.

  3. Henrik

Goosebumps. I just bought these speakers for our cabin and paired them with the NAD D3020 Hybrid amp. Unbelievable clarity and range for a $300 speaker set.

The Debut 2.0 B5.2 Bookshelf Speakers

Improving on its award-winning predecessor was no easy task, but the Debut B5.2 sets a yet higher standard, delivering performance in inverse proportion to its diminutive size. And it remains the best value in the world of affordable speakers, with sound that surpasses speakers many times the price.

New Tweeter with Wide-Dispersion Waveguide

A NEW soft-dome tweeter features a wide-roll surround and takes response up to 35,000 Hz for even more lifelike high frequencies. The waveguide improves directivity control and eliminates the diffraction modes inherent in traditional box enclosures.

New Woven Aramid-Fiber Woofer

The REVISED shape of the aramid cone offers even greater stiffness and damping, far superior to polypropylene or paper. The added strength allows more flexibility in design to achieve a smoother, extended low-frequency response.

New Cabinets with Easier Placement

THICK MDF cabinets with a luxurious black ash vinyl finish are larger, and internally braced for greater stiffness and strength, greatly reducing cabinet vibrations which cause unwanted coloration. On the Bookshelf and Center Channel, moving the bass port to the front of the cabinet means placement against walls or in bookshelves won’t compromise performance.

Optimized Center Speakers

Recognizing that in a multi-channel system the majority of sound comes through the center speaker, we have optimized sensitivity and impedance to minimize the power requirement from the AV receiver, maximizing dynamic impact from lower cost receivers.
