I was considering the Elac Element Series EA101EQ-G Integrated Amplifier to drive my uni-fi UB5 speakers. The amp’s spec sheet shows “Power output: 2 x 80 Watts Continuous @ 4 ohms with 1% THD”. I see a lot of amps listing .08% THD or even lower. Is the elac’s THD really 12.5 times higher, and if so, what is the significance?

I see a lot of information about the Elac App but for the life of me I cannot find the App for iOS in the store. Search under Elac, EA101EQ, etc. I don’t see a link to the app anywhere on Elac’s site. This seems like it should be fairly straightforward information to access.

Elac seems to have updated the information on the EA101EQ-G.

If you follow the link, you can see the accurate values for the THD.

    ELAC EA101EQ-G

    Under “Specifications” it states:

    Power and THD+N, 1kHz:
    4 ohms 70 Watts @ .07%
    8 ohms 40 Watts @ .03%
